First Ashland Street Party set for May 17
The Ashland Street Parties are planned for the third Saturday in May, July and September. The Street Parties have gained momentum and their reputation precedes them for family fun.
The gates open at 6 p.m. May 17 at the plaza and parking area adjacent to the Richard S. Gillis/Ashland Branch of the Pamunkey Regional Library, right in the heart of old town Ashland.
The Smokey Pig and Pepicelli's will be on hand and Ashland Street Parties, Inc, committee members promise they have cured the "long line syndrome."
Entertainment May 17 includes the infamous Bill Bevins of Lite 98.1, as Master of Ceremonies; The God Fearing Snake Handlers (local musicians) for openers, and King Edward and the BD's as the feature musicians.
Children's activities include the "bouncy thing," face painting and more. The Street Parties are dedicated to raising funds to maintain the beautiful new Plaza in Ashland, so come make your contribution while having a good time.
Now in the fourth Year, the Street Parties are a reflection of multiple groups partnering together to bring yet another great event to Ashland.
